My work is an exploration of hand forming techniques within ceramics. The outcome being a
a series of vessels, based upon geometric forms with in nature. The process used to create the vessels is very hands on, with the clay being scooped, scraped and smoothed to create form.
This hands on aspect to my work makes each piece unique, no two pieces being the same. The colours and textures reflected in my work give the forms a contemporary edge. The vessels can be displayed singularly or as a group. As a group the work takes on a new persona, the vessels become a family. Each vessel has its own character, being different in size shape colour and form. But seeming to have the best visual impact when being part of a group; the vessels come alive when they are together.
