This collection of objects is intended to trigger memories, narrative, emotion and play for those who encounter them. Their forms, surfaces and colours stem from drawings, a record of the objects collected by myself and those who surround me. That the pieces are rooted in real objects creates a sense of familiarity, and aids their power to interact and connect with whomever wishes to touch, experience and enjoy them. Their forms have become abstracted through the exploration of the material and my response to the forms created, resulting in ambiguity and intrigue. This allows a personal interpretation of the the objects, with viewers able to construct their own thoughts and engage their own imaginations. I hope to create a feeling of childish excitement and fun, whilst simultaneously touching the viewer on a deeper and more emotional level.
